It was just revealed that a South Korean student was
fatally stabbed and another seriously injured in an attack in Sydney’s CBD at 1am on early Friday morning. He was apparently the target of what the Australian police believes to be Asian crime gangs. Superintendent Mark Murdoch said there was no evidence the South Koreans instigated the attack, which local media reported as following an argument in a fast food outlet.

Murdoch said a pair of 18-year-olds were arrested shortly after the attack and were helping police with their inquiries, adding that there was an investigation into possible connections to Asian (Chinese) crime gangs. He said police believed the attack had been recorded from multiple angles by the extensive network of security cameras covering downtown Sydney.
“People who engage in this type of behaviour care nothing for what surveillance may or may not be in a particular area,” Murdoch said.
“They have a point to prove, whether it’s reputation or trying to establish a reputation, but it’s clearly idiotic, absolutely unbelievable and a senseless attack that has occurred, robbing one man of his life.”
It has been revealed that the student who was stabbed was Lee Dong Gun’s younger brother. He and his family are now rushing over to Australia to identify and claim his body. May he rest in peace and bring great sense of hope and peace to the family as well. It’s a tragic 2008 thus far for Lee Dong Gun having announcing his break-up with his girlfriend Han Ji Hye not too long ago.
